Recently I was attracting the most amazing opportunities. Speaking engagements, new participants for programs, a new tenant for my office suite, new wholesale accounts for my products and new partnership opportunities. But then something really strange would happen. Within a few days all of them would disappear! The partners would fall off, people would cancel their bookings, the speaking engagements wouldn’t be the right fit and then suddenly I was only left with maybe one of the items on this once incredible list. It was as if I could attract my desires, but I couldn’t hold on to my manifestation.
Does this sound like you? I had to do some soul searching and it lead me back to my heart chakra. The heart chakra is the fourth energy center in the body and it connects the lower chakras to the upper chakras. It involves all aspects of love and compassion, how we nurture ourselves, how we give to others, how we receive love and how we respond to vulnerability.
This area can become imbalanced through past hurt, or disappointment ,or fears of being rejected, or through an imbalance in giving and receiving. When it does so, it can lead to immune system issues, lung problems, cardiovascular or breast issues, upper back and shoulder pain, jealousy, and abandonment issues, losing your sense of self and giving without discernment.
When I was digging deep on this manifestation issue, I had some huge realizations about my heart chakra. I am a caretaker to a fault. I say fault because I tend to over give, and then I feel completely depleted and sometimes resentful. In addition, I have realized over the years that I am comfortable being the giver, but I am not always comfortable being the receiver. I would define my value by being able to give to others, and in turn I would subconsciously feel worthy of their time and affection once I had done so. I have gotten so much better with this, but it still creeps up on me.
So in relation to my manifestation problem, I think I was almost having trouble receiving gifts from the Universe. I was either holding on too tight to the opportunity and not allowing the energy to flow, or my own beliefs were causing it to disappear. It was as if I didn’t believe these opportunities would stick without my doing something. So I would attach by trying too hard to make them last, when the idea was to sit back and receive.
If this sounds like you or if you feel like some of the other characteristics of a heart chakra imbalance fit you,
here are some tips to find balance:
1-Practice yoga-especially focus on the heart openers. My favorite pose is camel pose because you lean back and let your heart shine to the heavens. When I am in this pose I imagine gold glitter raining down on my heart-as a symbol of abundance.
2-Surround yourself with the colors pink and green. This could be in the form of flowers or colors you wear, or even color therapy glasses. These colors strengthen this chakra.
3- Incorporate Rose Quartz crystal into your healing routine. This crystal is designed to open your heart, and center its insecurities. You can carry it in your pocket, use it in a meditation, or keep it nearby to absorb its beautiful energy.
4-Eat for your heart! Foods can nourish the chakras and dark leafy greens like swiss chard, dandelion, kale, and mustard greens provide nourishment for the heart. Green apples, pears, avocado, and kiwi are also beneficial!
5-Create a personal affirmation for your heart chakra. This is a positive statement about what you desire for your heart chakra. Maybe it is, “I trust that I will open my heart when I am safe. I am always protected.” Or it could be, “I am valuable just by being me. I balance giving and receiving with ease.” Choose what feels right for you and try to repeat this several times per day or read it often.
